More on Cordoba Gray

The color saga continues…

paint color

Once painted on a sample card, the color mixed by PPG is pretty close to the original paint manual. However, my sources tell me that it is likely still to brown and dark. I’ve seen photos of cars that look this dark, but also lots that are lighter and grayer, like mine was to start with.

At the rate I’m going, I’ll be painting her back to the color she was.

The research continues, again, anyone who has an original part in Cordoba that they could lend me, I’d appreciate it!

The color on your car in the picture is way too light. Cordoba gray is really sort of a greenish tan. My 34 was painted Cordoba Gray, and my current 35 pickup is “sort of greenish tan” as well.

A good friend of mine is building a 34 Wagon and his color is spot on. You might give him a call and see if he has a small part with the correct color, or maybe he could spray a sample and send it to you. Jerry Grayson, 770 478 7241. He will be glad to help you.

Lawson yes you are correct the color is too light and thanks for the contact info for Jerry I will call him today for I’d love to have a sprayed sample of Cordoba gray as a go-by. A few of the Fordbarn’s have been kind enough to send me dipped and brush paint samples of Cordoba gray but me painter would prefer a sprayed sample for greater accuracy. We’re getting closer on the color but close only counts in horse shoes and hand grenades!
